Saint Vincent De Paul was born in Gascony, France in the year 1580. He had very poor parents, who wanted De Paul to grow up the way they wanted to. He went to Franciscan Fathers school, and soon went to University studying Theological studies. From then he graduated and was ordained to be a priest. After that instead of preaching to others he went to live wish a family in Marseilles. He took care of them and helped tutored the children. When done there he traveled back to Gascony by sea. In 1605 he was captured by Turkish pirates and they brought him to Tunis. Not having any use of the bright priest, the Pirates sold Saint Vincent De Paul to a farmer. Only living there for 2 short years, Saint Vince and his owner escaped to France. During the travels, Saint Vince turned the farmer who was currently a renegade, into a religious man. In 1617 De Paul started to preach to people in France the word of the Lord. 8 years after he began to create a mission. What it was is a charity where people donate clothes to less fortunate. That is the biographical information about Saint Vincent De Paul.
